Instructors

 

Augie Gil

Augie received his undergraduate degree in K-12 Music Education with double emphases in Voice and Piano from Carson-Newman University and his Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of South Carolina. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of South Carolina. Augie has been actively involved in local theatre and productions both onstage and as musical director. Augie loves to encourage students in thinking about social issues and using their own narrative to guide their creativity

Augie offers a decade’s worth of experience teaching private lessons, and works frequently with many different styles including musical theatre, jazz, contemporary pop, and classical voice and piano.

Augie has also helped students of all ages prepare for auditions with America’s Got Talent, American Idol, and regional casting companies.

Chelse Lawson

Chelse received an undergraduate degree in Theatre from the University of Tennessee and a second undergraduate degree in K-12 Music Education from the University of South Carolina. She is currently the Choral Director at AC Flora High School and loves helping her students find their passion for music.

 

Yasmin Bradshaw

Yasmin Bradshaw is the Choral Director at Longleaf Middle School in Richland School District 2. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in December 2019 with a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting, where she studied with Dr. Alicia W. Walker. She is an alumna of Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, Voice emphasis. As a member of the Mississippi College Singers, she participated in performances in Carnegie Hall and at the 2014 ACDA Southern Division Conference. Yasmin is an active member in the National Association for Music Education and the American Choral Directors Association. Though passionate about music education and choral conducting, Yasmin is a frequently sought after soloist, having most recently performed at Palmetto Opera's "Opera Thursdays" at Villa Tronco in Columbia, SC. In Summer 2022, she also appeared as the Mezzo Soprano soloist for the Durufle Requiem with the University of South Carolina Summer Chorus.

J.M. Gil

J.M. received his undergraduate degree in accounting and finance from the University of South Carolina and his Master’s in Accounting also from the University of South Carolina. He is currently the accounting manager with a non-profit in Columbia and enjoys creating and facilitating an environment of learning and growth.
